BodyPaint 3D R17 Selection Not Showing

I can’t get my selection tools such as select rectangle, select circle, to show.  I can copy and paste what I select.  I just don’t see the dotted outlines showing my selection.  I’m pretty new to BodyPaint.  I know there is a simple answer to this question but I can’t figure it out.
