Hi Doc -
I have a mountain object and I’d like to grow trees only on specific parts of the mountain. I have those parts isolated (via white on black) in a 4K texture map that I exported from Gaea and am using in the Redshift shader graph for applying materials. Is there a way to turn this texture map into a polygon selection that is associated with the mountain object?
I am not 100% sure that the texture map that I exported from Gaea will work until I experiment with it. In case it doesn’t get the job done, is there a non-texture map method for controlling precisely where objects grow on a detailed sloped surface (without having to manually paint a selection or vertex map)?
I have a scene file that I can share if it will help. It’s about 500 MBs.
