Change default Cineware C4D edit version?

Is there a way to change the Cineware default edit C4D version and have it stick?

I know how it is supposed to be changed, but no matter what it reverts back to R24. I follow the instruction to restart AE and clear memory but still doesn’t work.

Using AE 2020, trying to have Cineware use R21 as the edit C4D version.
