MoGraph: Animating an individual clone

Hey all, so I’ve got some bullets set in a cloner and are cloned along a spline. I animated the offset, so as they move up, the top ones disappear. I would like to actually pull the top bullet out of the cloner and animate it moving into the barrel. Then I would like to animate the bullet tip moving through the barrel. I tried an Inheritance Effector with a MoGraph selection tag, but when animating the offset of the bullets moving up, even the bullet with the new inheritance disappears. But even if the bullet didn’t disappear, I wouldn’t know how to animate just the tip of the bullet, without affecting the rest of the clones (obviously, I wouldn’t want their tips moving out as well). Anyway, I’ve attached a couple of files to help illustrate what I’m trying to do. If there needs to be more clarification, please let me know.
