Motion Clips, Mixamo Control Rig Weirdness

Hi! So I’m making a duck that walks. He’s all rigged up using the Mixamo Control Rig. But when I add a motion clip of any kind, I notice that the control rig’s base/root and master controller do NOT follow the duck. All the other controllers do follow the duck and work correctly.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Picture attached.

I totally get it if I messed this up myself, but I’ve rebuilt the rig a couple of times with the same result.
